M1 Tactical Carbine.

As a puritan, I appreciate your concern for the USGI and use of the IJ.

As a looker, I would have to say its......'unique'. Glad it shoots well though.

I think the only paint scheme that would work on that is a dark one, maybe a deep raspberry or sapphire? :p

Cool!

You may want to switch to a type-3 barrel-band (with the bayo lug), if you can find one. Accuracy is better with the type-3 bands, so I'm told. I built a Frankengun-M1 out of a mix of commercial & milsurp parts, and it holds zero on windage, but elevation is another story. The shots group into TWO clusters, seperated vertically by 5-inches or so at 50 yards. I suspect the front band (type 1) is partly to blame. I used the Ultimak mount, which I must say works very well, and provides a very solid rail for mounting a red-dot, or small, long-relief scope.

Very nice! the only suggestion I can think of (but too late now really) would be to mount the stock a bit higher and in line with the barrel.

pretty much usless here in southern Ont as the .30 carbine it too BIG for the cal restrictions (as its 30. cal) but I can use a .270........:runaway:

What? I was aware of the minimum cal for hunting, but not aware there is a maximum? Thats gotta be a mistake, people hunt with .303's, .308's etc...

certian areas have cal restrictions mostly southern ont they for instance dont want you hunting with a 30.06 in north oshawa but a .270 falls under (just picked an area not sure it applies there) I dont have the regs here I tossed them

I think you may be restricted for small game too

sunray, DMcFaul, et al.........keep it civil and on topic, please. If you don't have anything positive to add to the thread, don't post.

Off-topic posts removed.

You can't use the .30 Carbine in some parts of Southern Ontario, aside from the Carbine being a restricted firearm, due to calibre restrictions. Not all of Southern Ontario has a calibre restriction of under .275 though. The Counties that do are listed in the hunting regs. Mostly in Southwestern Ontario.
However, there are some townships that have a calibre restriction too. Mostly around TO. As daft as it is, in these places, the max. calibre is .270, by the cartridge name. So a .270 Win is ok(despite the bullet diameter), but a .275 Weatherby is not.
"...may be restricted for small game too..." Yep.

... again, none of which applies to this NON-RESTRICTED firearm in any place that I use it... even for hunting. Thanks though.
