M1 to 308???

I have a Breeda recieiver and I want to put a .308 barrel on it. I was told that I will have trouble with it picking up the next shell because the .308 is shorter than the 30-06\.

Is this true is so is there a fix?

There will be no problem. A basic conversion requires a new barrel. You can also add an insert in the front of the magazine well. This is more to prevent a clip of .30-06s from being loaded. It may enhance feeding, I have one in my conversion, but others have reported that the insert is not necessary. If the replacement barrel is short chambered, the best way to finalize headspace is to use one of the pull reamer setups intended specifically for the job.

X2 tririaq...I have a Tanker 308 M1 and I have removed the aluminum spacer in the "magazine well" and never noticed the difference, 100% feeding ....
