Looking for a few (2 each) 2 and 5 round M1 Garand enblock clips - We have a charity event (womens day) coming up at our range and 8 rounds is a bit much for some of the guests who just want to try :(

Looking to trade/buy or borrow (if you are in the Durham Region (Ontario) or trade - I have stacks of 8 rounders!)

Yes, I know they can be made - not interested in fiddling around with that.
Loading just a few rounds for a guest is awkward and mildly dangerous.

appreciate any leads.

I've been searching for 5 rounders for a few years, but they are uncommon north of the 49th parallel it seems. Hopefully you can find some close by for your shoot

If they don’t carry them anymore, I’m sure they will know who does. All they pretty much cater to is high power rifle competition.

Just need to find the 308 version. I have a buddy who has a 3D printer who has no problem printing me things, but he isn't into editing files currently
Ooops. Reread a post and unblocked someone's content. For target shooting, the spacer would be the easy button. For hunting it is still a 8-round en bloc.

Why not load empty cases under the live ones? No modifications or gadgets required.
Don't know, I don't own a Garand and just saw it and thought it be helpful to the OP problem.

Empty cases don't always chamber and could jam up the gun, leaving brass and crap in it. Then you are tying to clear a jam, then eject the bloc.

I think it also tricks the gun to say its empty. To eject.

Yes, exactly, and .... and no **Ping** :(

This is for charity, most want to hear that ping ..... it wasn't a problem years ago when 30-06 was $0.60 a round, but now people shy away when you tell em it's 8 tickets ($12, we use tickets in charity events)

And then again .... I am assuming that the 2 and 5ers will eject with a ping when spent! Do they??

The clip is held in the rifle by a finger in a hole on the side. As the lifter moves up to the top, that finger is withdrawn, and YIPPEE! Ping! There is enough force in the operating rod spring to send it out. It is a complicated mechanism.

There is a way to cross two rounds in an as-issued clip and lay the three parts together in the receiver. They align themselves again, and the shooter can do the USGI thumb-the-nose salute to John Garand. If you are going to do sell tickets and the Ping! is the thrill, the range assistant will be able to perfect their drill pretty quickly.
