I'm of the opinion that anything chambered in 7.62x39 should follow the KISS method, be lightweight, low tech., and if equipped with a magazine, it should be fed by one that was designed for the taper of the round.
This excludes any rifle that takes the standard AR/STANAG magazine, and invariably, any rig that is equipped with scopes, or other crap hanging off them.
I really like the VZ-58, but in it's original barrel length configuration. The non-restricted version is rather ungainly with the longer barrel.
For these reasons I think the T-81 is about the best autoloader available to Canadians.
If a need exists for better accuracy, and scoped use with the same round, pair it with a CZ 527.
