M10X Canadian MSRP set

Psssst, that update is from Oct 11, today is the 27th cou:

I know that , Three times Wanstall told us the honor the deal, and now we wait for an option ... wait for what , ? that's a good way to make customer unhappy.

Please don' t tell me buls$hit about M+M, I don' t care about their supplier.

Without the supplier, there are no rifles to sell to you.

I'm not sure what this means. Are you saying that Wanstalls has placed an order with NS for these M10x rifles?

No, but Wanstalls has placed many orders with NS. NS it' s a distributor. Wanstall knows where my gun will be available.

I speculate a little in meantime., I have to wait for my options.

So, no e-mail "options" from Wanstalls yet. I view this as hopeful, in the sense that Wanstalls must not have written-off the pre-sale quite yet. Of course, as we've seen over the past few days that can all (apparently) change with a single phone call. That would place M+M in a position of having directly lied to Canadians on their FB page, which they may be reluctant to do as they try to launch sales in this country. Time will tell, and I'm sure that Wanstalls will reach out to their pre-sale customers when they have something firm to say. Until then, patience remains a virtue....

If the pre-sale flops for whatever reason, I will just wait to see if their is a price reduction due to slower than anticipated Canadian sales. I'm not going to hold my breath however, as all of the wailing about M+M's buisness practices has been confined to CGN and a single FB page that can be scrubbed. As we all know, CGN represents only a very small minority of the Canadian firearms owning population, leaving the vast majority oblivious to what goes on here. Anyone who goes spouting off about some obscure U.S. gun manufacturer on other Canadian discussion boards will likely be viewed with polite curiousity at best, and a healthy dose of skepticism otherwise. The fact of the matter is that this is all just a "tempest in a CGN teapot", nothing more. Memories will fade with time and the very next "drama" that attracts the incessant whiners and sore losers.

M+M and North Sylva want their cut of the Canadian "NR Tax", as is to be expected. Some on here have guessed that Tactical Imports makes a mere 40% mark-up on its T81 rifles. LOL! Try adjusting by another decimal point and you will be much closer to the unpleasant truth for Canadian consumers. I have seen it estimated more convincingly elsewhere, that TI picks up the T81s for the global market price of approximately $200 USD apiece, FOB from the factory. Even factoring in shipping, importation and currency conversion costs, it is easy to see that they can pocket the proceeds of a 400% mark-up by acting as the sole importer, distributor and retailer of those rifles. Yet nobody complains about TI price-gouging. Just because TI is smart enough not to rub their customers' noses in their profit margins and (presumably) because they are Canadian themselves, they get a complete bye on shafting Canadian consumers? I'm not sure which would be worse to deal with - a seemingly buisness-inept US company that understandably wants the maximim market-share promised by an under-cutting Canadian distributor, or a Canadian importer/distributor/retailer that quietly stiffs it's countrymen for obscene profit margins. Hmm.... tough call. What I can tell you is that I am not on the T81 bandwagon for that very reason. Well, that and the fact that in my personal experience, the Chinese make cheap and disposable military firearms.

As another example, do you have any idea how much profit Trijicon makes on the cost for its optics? It is right around 1OO%, and I know that for a fact as Trijicon once sold me a replacement scope at their cost due to some very extenuating circumstances. That cost was almost exactly 50% of the Canadian retail price for that very same optic. Odd that we don't see pitchforks and torches for Trijicon the way that they'very been sharpened and lit for M+M Industries, eh?

As for the M10X, I will reserve judgement. Unlike some on here, I am not so stupid (or petulant) as to believe that a product is junk just because its designer happens to be a piss-poor buisnessman. Based on the near-universal positive reviews that I have watched and read I am still very interested in the M10X. What remains to be seen is how, or even if, I will choose to obtain one. Wanstall's may still come through, and I won't write them off until they admit defeat at the hands of M+M and/or NS. Failing Wanstalls, there is the possibility of an eventual price-correction if Canadian sales do not meet the expectations of the manufacturer and importer. On top of that is the option for 3rd party importation of a standard 16.5" barrel Restricted example. Quite frankly, both the second and third options carry the same inherent risk of no warranty service thanks to NS's reputation in that department, so either way makes no difference to me. The 3rd party importation will likely be cheaper in the long run, as an increased MSRP is largely irrelevant in the U.S. where low-demand firearms always sell for hundreds less than the asking price. If IRG swears off of M+M for whatever reason there are always others in the same buisness willing to make a buck.

The entire notion that the Canadian firearms (buying) community will somehow miraculously rise up united to defy NS and M+M for having insulted us thin-skinned Canucks? That is simply ludicrous. Any such view seriously over-estimates CGN'S reach within the community. The fact of the matter is that some people, even those with (shock!) knowledge and aforethought of the "shenanigans", will pay what NS and M+M are asking. I won't be one of those, but you can bet that some folks will happily pay the "NR tax" to put their hands on a new design - even if it is nothing more than an interesting new amalgam of old ideas. I will pay either the pre-sale price or the equivalent of the cost of a new M10X purchased from Gunbroker and imported through a 3rd party. That's it, that's all. Or I will simply satisfy myself with something else. What I won't do is waste electrons and screen-time whining about my butt-hurt because some American buisness man wants to dig deeper into my wallet. Like an adult, I simply won't allow him to do that. Simple, really.

The fact is we bought a gun from " X ", We wait from "X" , "X" have to find our guns.

This is what people don't understand...

NS made MX10 to cost $2000 ...not to make money off it...they made it $2000 to make sure their other over priced NR guns will continue to sell and make money.. "THAT" is the true motive behind this price gouge.

You may be on to something. It's simply about controlling the market. Jack the price on this knowing that a select few will still pay the premium. At the same time the inflated price will make other offerings of their's that they have a higher prophet margin on look more appealing and keep selling.

Pffff.
This is the longest, whiniest post on the M10X train wreck yet. Still hopeful (delusional?) that MM/Wans/NS are going to produce a rifle for you at $1450? That is some epically biblical crazy talk right there.
Right up there with the Quebec nut that wants 600% interest on his deposit or his gun as promised....

Might as well make it 1000% just to have a nice even number you know lol

Thanks for the novella Bartok.

You are welcome - I was bored and it gave me something to do! Sarcasm, you say? Well, nobody make you read it, did they?

As for "Hitzy" and his allusions to whining, I defy him point out where said whinging supposedly occurred . Was my previous post long? Yes, I had a lot on my mind. Again, nobody made anyone else read it. But whining? I think "Ditzy" has confused my words with his own, moronic bleatings in this M10X thread and others. I'm told that Vagiisil will sort out what ails him (sand in mangina), but can't honestly vouch from personal experience. LOL!
