I debated buying one of these for the last couple of years, but after reading the relatively positive reviews on the latest revision, I decided to jump onboard. I haven't had a chance to fire mine yet, but I do have a few questions for owners:

1/ How many mags did yours come with? Metal or plastic? Mine came with a single plastic mag, whereas there was clearly a spot in the packaging for a second mag, and I've seen them advertised with photos of the rifle with a steel mag.

2/ Looking at MANY reviews, it was noted in a couple that these rifles included M+M branded backup sights. No BUIS in my box. Is this something they are no longer including?

3/ Anyone get a cheek riser for their Zhukov stock with their rifle? It seems a bit lame that one wasn't included, and I could really use one for the optic I want to use.

I'm really curious as to whether the dealer I purchased the rifle from removed some of the stuff to sell separately, and subbed in a cheaper mag. I figured I'd check with y'all here to see if I got screwed, or if what I got is the "new normal".

Thanks in advance. To those who want to reply with a rant about these rifles, please don't bother - as I said, I've read all of the threads and seen the reviews. I'm just looking for answers to the above questions.

It is common for Canadian gun stores do remove extra mags for resale. Whether or not this is the case here I have no clue

If a retailer has been removing contents from a package to resell seperately and hasn't updated the pricing accordingly, they need a rock through their window.

So Wanstalls, are these SUPPOSED to come with 2 metal mags, BUIS, and a riser for the stock, but the extras are removed before you get the guns?

No only 1 mag, zhukov cheek riser is a seperate purchase and I've never seen them come with iron sights or even advertised with iron sights
Hell I saw some guys get stickers/patches with theirs. I would guess where I bought mine from pulled those items out the box to keep for themselves.

This post is for rifles, not for pistols.

Rifle manufacturers that use the commonly available magazines usually buy whatever OEM out there to put into the box. It is really a matter of supply and price, etc. The rifle has to come with at least one mag.

That's why sometime people get p-mag, sometime people get aluminum mag.

When it comes to Canada, I speculate the distributors may ask for NO mag so they don't have to take each mag out of the box, pin and put it back, and the hassle of each rifle box comes with a prohib mag to complicate the process, unless the manufacturer is willing to pin mags. Unless it is a special mag, it is more efficient to have no mag, and get the mags somewhere else or have all the prohib mags imported on their own for pinning. And pinning plastic mags is easier than pinning steel mags.

I am just putting out the perspective of dealing with the fact of the extra process on dealing with mags.

my short HG was purchased late last year came with one steel yugo mag, i have seen recent ads they come with poly mag.

no sights, no cleaning kit and no riser.

Interesting perspective. I hadn't considered that.

OK, thanks all. Sounds like mine is typical (same as yours, except for the plastic mag instead of a steel one). Guess I'll go buy a riser and more mags.

If it isn't specified in its description what is included with the fire arm well any extras are just that extras. You can't trust pictures they could be of a different model or price range. Read the package description for an idea of what will be included. Model number and serial numbers will give you the best idea in what will be included in the package. Ask questions before you click.
( ya have gotten stung ! No fun )
