M10x FAILURES

Can anybody with a m10x that is malfunctioning post a pic of the chamber?

The gas regulator pic would be nice as well. Measurement's would be welcome as well. I have a theory why it is malfunctioning.

1. It is over gassed.
2. Chamber needs to be honed.
Two things that should not happen in a production rifle. But can be easily fixed.

My experience so far has been mixed. The rifle has been fine, but its very mag picky. The included steel mag will chamber the first round, but next round always misfeeds into the side of the chamber. I have purchased some pmags, but can only load them to 4 rounds or the bolt wont clear the rounds when trying to chamber the first round. I guess this is my payment for not reading reviews before buying a new rifle...

I really gave this dog my best shot. I tried as hard as I could to like it. Does not like surplus. Had failures with barnaul and S&B brass. The final straw was when the piston broke in behind where the charging handle locks in making the gun a heavy club. To add insult to injury North Sylva would not warranty the part ( they wanted me to go through the retailer and send the whole gun) so I paid for a new piston and they sent me a used part. Once the piston was replaced I went back to the retailer to trade it. I wanted to like this gun but after 621 rounds constantly ftf,fte and a catastrophic failure I was done.

i hear ya and to boot, the new one has shorter HG and skinny barrel for more money, try to figure that out?

Just curious about what magazines you were using and if yours from form the first batch or one of the newer guns?

Also what type of surplus and if you tried any new production steel case like burnaul?

Mags were pmags,South Korean mags and the one that came with it. I found no difference be tween mags and the functionality of the firearm. Mags were not the issue.

Surplus was Czech and Bulgarian. Barnaul steel cased brass wash and S&B bras's case. Barnaul performed best but still not reliable.

I tried every gas setting and position 3 made the issues worse.
I tried various levels of lube from heavy to thin.

This firearm is not something to put your trust in.

It does go bang, you just have to put up with the malfunction's and a possible broken piston.

It does run fine between 40 and 60 rounds but starts going wonky as it heats up.

Reading this makes me glad that I didn’t have the money to buy one when they came out !

No doubt!
When they were first announced at around 1500 after tax and shipping I was tempted, then the importer switch and price increase.

Now years later with plenty of time to work out any issues but they are still getting terrible reviews for reliability.

I was in for $1500 (pre order) These guys are D bags for sure. All involved in the pre order really dodged a bullet on this unit

I forgot to mention when I received the used part piston it would not fit the gas regulator. I had to polish the piston to fit the regulator.

I have one from the very first batch, actually had it out yesterday put about 300 rnds of the non-corrosive can ammo stuff through it without a problem. I have used Chinese steel case, wolf lacquered steel case all without issues. In total I have put around 1500 rnds through it with no issues.

I have used Croatian, old china stamped, and an assortment of steel mags I have acquired over the years without issue, I did have a problem with some new production 10/5 mags I bought off the board here a couple of months back ( I could tell even before I put the mag in the gun they were going to be problems). I have not tried any polymer mags so can't comment on them.
I have never experienced any of the issues listed in this thread, I guess I am lucky? not sure.
I bought a T81 fixed stock around the same time as the M10, and sold it this spring , it was a good firearm as well but just was not using it, the inability to mount optics played a big part in this.
My one big complaint about this firearm is the weight, it's heavy.
My guess is you are not getting much feedback from the thousands of people that own these rifles because the thread always ends the same way.
It also sounds like quality control is iffy at best, not sure what is going on with their production; from what Cork has described above he was sent a real POS, I would not be happy either.
This is just my opinion I am not trying to defend it "because I bought a crappy firearm" I have bought lots of crappy firearms over the years and have no problem cutting my losses.

I think the hate stems from what happened when this gun was originally released.
Thing is, this gun in the states is $1500 USD, so $2000 Cad is bang on (no pun intended).
So now everyone, jumps on the "the gun is crappy train" VS "We Canadians get shafted bus" (although that still hasn't left the station)

Finding an affordable, reliable, non-restricted semi in Canada is tough enough... The WK/WS sibling rivalry is giving us two guns with the Same AND Different problems to deal with.

Personally, I think the M10X is the "###iest" looking gun chambered in 7.62 x 39.

BUT I am not in the market to spend $2K on a gun that DOES have questionable QC, (just as many 1 star as 5 star reviews) so I remain on the fence

The M10x is ###y. That's why I acquired it. IMO it is not a $2000 dollar gun until the kinks ate worked out and QC is nailed down. My experience has soured on the platform but it has promise if they can profile proof. I will buy again when I see threads raving about it.

There are a few hit and miss fire arms around, seems like the M&M is one of those.... luck of the draw I guess.

My firing pin and bolt claw broke after 923 rounds. Thank god M+M sent me another bolt assembly for free. Then again the handle fly away randomly wich is a headache. I heard you can shove some wires underneath the button to jam it there. Even though those problems, the rifle is surprisingly accurate and fun to shoot.

Judging by what ive read over the years, the M10x wouldnt have been justified even it were only $1300 cad.... too many shortcomings that cut it down to its most basic competition especially before OIC.
