Rob ski said the trigger parts look similar to that of AK trigger parts but that's it so far.....I could listen to him all day!
I doubt very much that the lab really cares considering they prohibited a 22lr cause it looked like an AK.

They prohibited a 22lr as a variant of another 22lr named in the oic.

The Mitchell Arms AK22.

I think it means exactly what they wrote...

In fact, the more time I spend with this rifle, the more I’m inclined to think of it as an attempt to “upgrade” the SIG SG 550 series of rifles by replacing the proprietary aspects of that system (i.e. trigger, magazine, pistol grip, and stock) with readily available AK-47 and AR-15 alternatives. The beauty with that approach is that it makes the rifle easier to customize and upgrade.

Want a different stock or pistol grip? Can do. Easily. Want a high-end aftermarket AK trigger? Ditto.

Spoke with one of them at the company on messenger yesterday when I enquired if they knew anything on status.

They said no but in conversation they did say that it is NOT an AK variant and they do NOT market it as such.

For whatever That's worth..
 
Really looking forward to this.
Looks very easy to clean after corrosive ammo.
No need to remove the barrel like on the xcr.
Could be a grand cheaper too.
 
I'm very eagerly awaiting the approval aswell!!! im looking forward to a non restricted bush gun I can beat up and us all my AK mags I have in it...maybe in September we will get the overlords good word!!

Just don't for get your promise with 1 of those drum mags to me ;-)!!!!!!
