either way: chicks with dicks, or boobs with dicks, evolution ends right there, t81 has some chance for the evolution at least;) although I'd choose AK, well cz..... well.... sks

$1200 plus tax and shipping, so $1400-1500 by the time it gets to you.... only if some little 3rd world country places a massive order and TI gets some.
The world economy is bad for everyone right now. I don't see anyone placing a big order any time soon. And they plan to scrap the tooling.

to my door in BC is $1300 and to someone in Ont is $1400.

i dont believe they are scrapping the tooling anytime soon. there are over 2 dozens countries uses them and some of these countries dont care about the world economy cos the economy dont keep them in power, the guns do plus china do hand them out as aid. thats my humble opinion. only time will tell who is right.

those countries can be forced to adopt new firearms especially if it s coming from military aide. we re really peanut on that market ...

well it is economy 101 the giver is the chooser if for any reason somene is giving up to built something unless you have the tooling it is over ... especially those receiving for free.

vietnam is a different kind: they were at war, those countries mostly are not and most are receiving aides.

I read several reports about the M10x that it is finicky with surplus ammo. As to looks, to me it is just another black rifle. Something for the thirsty AR15 crowd.

My experience with "DMR" version.

Stuck cases with copperwashed chinese dominion ammo, zero problems with lacquered barnaul FMJ and OT. I shot may be 50 dominion (2 stuck cases) and close to 1K barnaul.

I also have some feedback on mags. chroatian BHO 5/30 mags (hate them) are fine, Pmags 5/10 and some cheap chinese 5/5 AK mags (sold to me as SKS-D mags for some reason) are fine too. No problems with all three types.

No flying off charging handles.

The only gripe I have, when you open the rifle lower receiver makes a neat line dent on the aluminum hand-guard right at the "bubba accu-pin" position.

P.S. don't like Dominion copper washed in general. now very accurate and dirty. t81 had no problems with it though, ate 200rds with no problems.

So with that ammo being corrosive what’s the take down of the two like for cleaning the salts out after shooting? The SKS is a breeze.

I bought it simply because it looked cool damn sure wish I'd read reviews I would take the T81 over it any day. I have never had the T81 or an sks ever catch a shell casing on the way out and I have four of each that M10x the has caught three of thirty rounds fired so far. 2nd shot fire caught it real good and marked up the metal real bad on my brand nee $2k+ gun.

They're poo. Sorry about your luck. I bought a few turds over the years myself. If I were you, I would cut my losses, sell it with full disclosure and buy two nice SKS's.

TBH, the world recession is likely to result in more sales of Type 81. Remember it is a tried and true platform, countries that were previously looking to upgrade to some fancy $4,000 SCAR or other platform might just decide to take these as an interim step, especially if they already have 7.62x39 as default calibre. When your looking at national armed forces that place orders for 200,000+ guns as a main service rifle, even small savings add up...

new quote but im positive its not in economic 101, its either that or i played hooky that day. lol. and i have no idea what you said about vietnam.

What is better the DMR or Short Handguard?

Why?

After handling both I prefer the longer handguard, can get a grip further out and better for mounting a bipod. Gives a little more space for other accessories and if you want to run irons a longer sight radius. Slightly more weight but for the aluminum handguard it’s not perceptible.

The biggest difference in that M10x models is the heavy vs light profile barrels, that makes a difference, ideally I would have a long handguard and light profile barrel. I also think the longer handguard looks better and more proportioned vs the short, but that’s personal preference.

i prefer more is better, longer HG and thicker barrel and its cheaper, go figure? but reports aint so good.

Personally I prefer the short handguard look,
I like the exposed gas tube... plus it balances nice and is pretty light. If it was accurate I could see maybe wanting to put a bipod on it , but I don't think it will be. As long as it functions and puts out 2-3 moa il be happy.
