I shot lots of full auto in Vegas. Very easy to keep it inside the target.
I would love to have one
Wait, do you use Type81 for hunting?
That's a slippery slope, my friend. What use do you have for bayonet lug and bayonet? What use do you have for gun itself, apart of punching holes? How punching holes with FA is different from punching holes in semi-auto or from punching holes with (god forbid) no gun at all?
Gun ownership includes many things - such as (but not limited to) hunting, animal control, target and sport shooting, collecting or recreational shooting. Saying that "FA makes no sense" is like saying "nobody needs a gun even for hunting, one can buy meat in supermarket". If we, gun owners, start to employ such logic, we would become FUDDS. No matter how limited our personal use of firearm we should be supportive of all other types of legal activities with firearm.
I easily see how FA can be used for puchning holes, for target shooting, for collecting and for recreational shooting. All of those are non-military uses.
It's nice for room clearing and other short range fighting. For medium and heavy machine guns it's good for medium to long range shooting.
So basically not somethjng we need to be worried about

On the plus side if it was full auto I’d venture to say accuracy wouldn’t suffer much haha!!!
I’d love a full auto, just for fun time at the range. I’ve shot a couple in the states 10 years ago and it was fun, I don’t know how much I’d use the full auto mode as I’m not sure I could afford to use it all the time.
I never said we shouldnt have it.
Im just implying that i would have virtually no use for it. Just like the bayo on my SKS, or the grenade launcher on my Type 81.
it is a great tool for trappers that i know of that went from sks, vz cz, mini 14 or 30 to the t81 so there is a reason somewhere.

I'm going to say the original long handguard heavy barrel ones are a crap shoot, Everyone seems happy with the newer lighter short handguard one, other than the fact it doesn’t have a heavy enough hammer spring to shoot the hard primer surplus. Its not the most accurate gun, but its not bad.
Its reliable with newer non corrosive ammo and fun.
Enough people liked mine so much I know of 2 others that went and bought one after shooting it.
Have to add, neither north sylva or m&m have answered me , so expect customer service to be crap if you ever need it.
Yeah that seems to pretty much be the case, some of the original ones might have problems, so if you’re buying used ensure that the person selling it to you can confirm reliability. Otherwise if you’re buying new ensure that it’s the latest version.
From what I’ve read m+m customer support takes around 2 weeks to get to emails these days, they’re that swamped but once they’ve made contact doesn’t seem to be any issue for them to send replacements parts etc to fix the issues.
They’ve switched to a NiB bolt with some slight changes from the originals which seems to be the cure for feed/ejection issues. So if you get a chance to inspect the one you’re looking at check for the NiB (silver/gold colour) or contact m+m to get the repayment.

It literally just arrived last week, have not had the opportunity to drive a couple hrs to see my dad, I left it with him, it's his new play toy on his farm lol.

Yeah... room clearing in full auto... great way to send bullets flying everywhere... full auto on a fighting rifle has limited use past 10-15m. It’s a great noise maker and lead slinger, it can work in case a machine gun or machine gunner fails. But beside stance check, full auto isn’t widely used. Lack of accuracy/control, ressource wasting are 2 factors. 1 aimed shot is better than 4-5-23 in the general direction out of a rifle
Another great use of full auto is when you get a lazy ammo guy that says "I’m not taking returns at the end of the day" and he leaves 4 first line of blank ammo for everyone... it used to be called mexican unload, I don’t think we can still use this term, and it was bad for the guns. Full auto seems to be something the past generation loved but the replacement that played in the sand discovered that aimed shot are better.
Back on topic, tried both lately and while the ergo of the M10x are better, I would trust the T81 to go the extra miles if it was needed. M10x is a range toy just like others. Accuracy wise 3-4moa should me expected from both with minimal efforts. More than that is likely shooter induced or lemon produced on a friday afternoon. T81 is a fun rifle to shoot and definitetly more reliable even with bent receivers.
Literally the only time I would rock full auto was during Mexican unload and that was just about the time such terminology started to elicit some raised eyebrows lol.
All it did was dirty the damn rifle up and make my life miserable. Let the C9s rip I’ll just vibe thank you.
