Has anyone else had issues with the safety on their Norinco M305? Mine keeps popping out of safe mode every time that I either change the mag, close the action or simply gently nudge the safety lever.

Usually people complain about a very tight safety. It is a matter of a hairpin spring in your trigger assembly.

You'll have to take it out and see if it is too loose or possibly out of place.

I removed and inspected the trigger group . I saw the hairpin spring. I couldn't tell if it was out of place but it did not feel like it was loose.

When I get a chance I'll compare it to a friend's rifle and see if they are in the same place.

Thanks

P.S.
I wasn't really complaining. My rifle goes bang every time that I pull the trigger, so it's still sunshine, lollipops and rainbows for me.:)

For someone that has a very tight safety how would u fix that problem.

Get some leather gloves and a small piece of wood (like a wooden chopstick). Work the safety on and off for two hours or so (watch a hockey game or movie on tv). That should fix it.

The gloves are to minimize blisters and stop you from bleeding on your rifle.

Some people will also use toothpaste with this method as it is a mild abrasive.

Had no problems when I stripped my trigger group.
Theres a couple of great how to vids on UTube.

I did take the precaution of doing the whole thing inside a massive ZipLoc........just in case.

If you choose to remove the trigger group while working it, do tape the pins in place. They can work loose and fall out without the stock to hold them in place. Ask me how I know ;)

Sounds easy until you try to reassemble the trigger group.

Tell me about it...i did a trig job on mine last friday...first goof i did was to leave the hammer cocked and pop out the first pin...after that ordeal was dealt with...installing that same pin again as a final step made me curse quite a bit...first time is a pain...until you learn the tricks...

It's a lot easier to reassemble when you put in a USGI or Tubbs hammer spring, the Norc ones are pretty stiff. The other bonus is a reduction in trigger pull of at least a couple pounds.
