Hello, just wanted some input if anyone else has ever experienced a similar issue. I have some aftermarket m14 mags where the cartridge seems to sit lower in the mag then the norinco magazines. My m14 won't reliabley strip and feed rounds from these mags. Would opening up the feed lips slightly fix this issue?

The dark black mags are the aftermarket mags, you can see the cartridge sitting lower in it. The grey one is a norinco mag the feeds 100%

Thanks for any input

Just straighten the feed lips this magazine looks like some one dropped it feed lips down. Also it looks like a parkerized mag hastily spray painted

where did you get your mag from? the reason I ask is because I believe I have the same one and I compared it to my norinco and didn't have this issue

It also clearly looks like the magazine catch nub on the rear is much higher than the standard Norc one.
This would mean that not only is the cartridge not coming up to the top as high as the Norinco magazine but that the magazine itself is actually going to sit lower in the receiver/magazine well of the rifle.
So it's a two fold problem combining to mean zero rounds are going to feed into the chamber.
I had a similar problem with the AIA magazines when they came in. I bought one and returned it because it had the exact same problem with the magazine nub being welded on too high and no rounds feeding.
Does the empty magazine engage the bolt catch and hold the bolt to the rear?

I will check, there are 4 mags from the same manufacturer I will post pictures of all 4 nubs.

Have the same mags from magwedge mine work perfect. Way better then the norinco mags that came with the gun
