I bought a second hand m14 from someone and we are both unsure as to whether or not it has a norc or a usgi barrel. I don't really care which one it is but I am tryin to instal the dlask adjustable gas lock on it. I ordered the one for the m305 but the nut will not thread on.

So does anyone know what threads the norc should be? Or what threads the usgi would be? If its that easy I would like to go pick up a bolt from brafasco to check the threads so I can return the m305 nut and order the m14 nut.

Or is there anyone in the Toronto/etobicoke area that has either a usgi or norc gas lock that they would let me try. I can come to your place or you can come to mine.

Any help is appreciated.

I am thinking more and more I have a usgi barrel just because dlask sent me a replacement nut that he tried on a norc and he said he had no problems, however when trying to I stall it on my norc it seems to wanna wreckage first thread on the barrel.

I can post pics when I'm home tonight if necessary.

Thanks,
Adam

Does your barrel have anything stamped into it?
Lock your oprod back and look on the right side that the prod covered up.
If it says hra or trw or sa or something else it is usgi.if there is no stampings
Then it is norc.

Is that nut tight going in?
Cause some times you have to tap the gas lock side to side when its supper tight in order for it to seat the gas plug properly.

So i gave it one more try and i got the new nut on there. I applied more downward pressure to get it past the bad thread and its on there nice and snug.

I wanna thank Dlask who responded quickly to my email and had a new nut out the next day no questions asked. Very nice experience i will be getting more products from them in the future.
