I just got my second Boyds stock for my M14S and I would like to install a bipod/sling adapter in place of the front swivel.Which one (that we can get with out a lot of trouble here in Canada) is the best.Harris, etc and what are the model# to go with them?Have read a few things which suggest that possible spliting of the forend could be a problem, usually with the usgi fiberglass stock, any suggestions?

I think your best bet would be to talk to fabsports or Smith enterprises . There maybe a chance the doctor could help out .. ill have to let him out of the basement first , hes working on my rifle.

I would drill and tap a thin steel plate and epoxy it into the inside a relief made in the stock. Place the bipod closer to the mag than swivel. It puts less pressure on the stock, affecting accuracy.

I bought a m14 pic bottom rail that used the same holes as the forward swivel rivets. Put it on...good to go. Boyd's stock has the holes and I had the right length screws .
