I've only had her for a few months so I'm not completely finished with it yet. But here's a short list of what I've done to it so far.

Purchased a CASM genII aluminum mount and black arrow round non-fluted spring guide from M14.ca Mounted a Bushnell Elite 4200 2.5-10x40 to it and added a harris bi-pod to the fore end for stability.

Still need to give her a pretty paintjob so I got four rattle cans of camo krylon from wally world. Next sunny day its getting a fresh coat. Also in the market for a cheek riser. If anyone has experience with a good one let me know. My current cheek riser is a nicely folded crankworx t-shirt wrapped tightly in camo-form which is only temporary but actually works really well. Also waiting for my letter with $5 and three pieces of brass to reach hungry so I can get some more info on headspace etc, and get some shims to tighten up the gas assembly a bit. A full range report to follow as soon as my membership is processed. I can hardly wait!

But enough bullcrap, on with the photos! :D

They're the lowest steel rings with steel Allen bolts I could find. But I don't recall where I got them.
I'll look up tacpro tonight, thanks for the info.
Haha yeah free crankworx swag is great!

The Coyote M1A cheek risers work pretty well also. No need to drill holes, just tighten it with the straps. You'll need to know how high you want it to be first though, as they come in one size only. If this is the route you're looking to go, I have one that I might want to sell so shoot me a text. I believe it's 1.5" high and black.

Very nice looking rifle you have btw. In all honesty, I really like the look of your makeshift cheek riser!

Very nice build.

I have a CASM gen 1 mount on mine no problems yet. Saving for a better scope. I first tried an ARMS 18 and had stove pipes all the time.
In case you are wondering that is a 1966 E2 stock I bought about 25 years ago for my first Norinco M14.
