So, I pulled my mount off of my one m14 and dropped it onto my 22" following the instructions on how to do so. Or at least I thought I did. After installing, i took it out to the range and with the scope adjusted as far as it can to the left , I am still right of the center of the target by about 6-8". I had great groups with the 18.5 but this is driving me crazy. I tried shimming the rings, the mount, everything to try and pull it over more to the left. Has anyone else had these issues, and if so what did ya do? Thanks for any insight.

From Frank at M14.ca

"Set the CASM in the rear sight pocket and set a long 4 foot dowel (or something similarly straight) on top of the mount to check if she is aligned with the bore. If she is still not aligned, you can try setting her up again, this time starting on the side you need to move her. You can take some material off the left side of the mount or the right side and move her closer to the boreline if needed by placing a sheet of fine metal sandpaper on a desk top and passing the side of the mount over it. Removing a few thou. may be all you need. Aluminum will not rust. You could paint the edges that may show. I hope that helps. -Frank "
