M14 Clinic in Calgary

Just curious if any of you local Calgary and area CGNers would be interested in a M14 clinic by the M14 Doc himself?

I know I have a few rifles I would love to tune and understand further.

Let me know your thoughts!
 
Definitely interested, although there was a thread through recently about this same topic, and I believe the m14Doc himself stated that he wasn't planning any trips out this way anytime soon. Maybe if there is enough interest we can persuade him! Also keep an eye on the Events and Gatherings forum for stuff like this.
 
Well now... I had been pondering a cross canada trip to visit some long lost friends in whitby ontario.
I wasn't planning with the idea of doing clinics along the way but.... Barney has encouraged me to step up the clinic schedule to keep up the support for the noobs :D
Calgary is 10 hours driving from my place and I've been there once in my life as a teenager on a bus trip to moose jaw..... That's the farthest east I've been in Canada LOL
Anyhow, I'll run the logistics of a possible trip thru edmonton and calgary
Car rental and fuel being my only real considerations, and of course venues for clinics
"IF" and a big IF I can put something together, ideally a 2 day clinic would be perfect.
Late summer would also fit my schedule too
Keep up the discussion guys, if there is lots of interest, I'll do my part to make it happen ;)

Alright! Let's make this happen! I can almost guarantee more than enough interest.
 
I'm not up to speed on Calgary's local shooting events or gun shows so certainly don't want to make it on one of those weekends
If anyone knows dates thru late july/august that we should definately avoid, speak up ;)
 
is this the same course (roughly) that tactical teacher puts on?

if so we have a thread over in Tactical Teachers forum with like 30 people on it looking for a alberta course.
put me down for 2 people anywhere in alberta.
 
The short answer is Yes, although I'm probably not as entertaining in person :D Tactical Teacher and I pretty much run a similar clinic format. Barney has canadian forces and competition shooting experience which are evident in both his style and the knowledge he imparts on the classroom. He's also a school teacher so this also lends itself well to the clinic environment.
Myself, I base my clinics on the riflesmithing side of the platform, teaching you how to take a rack grade m14 type rifle and improve it thru simple techniques using readily availlable tools. I also show you the not so availlable tools and show you how to use them should you want to do a build yourself.

Tactical Teacher/Hungry and I also did a clinic together in 2012 up at my place in BC, was super fun times.
He's also kinda urged me to step it up and do more clinics so as long as I'm not steppin on his toes by doing a calgary event, I'm gonna do what I can to make it happen.
 
You M14 lovers in Alberta have always shown me the love but this year with being the ORA Precision Rifle match director , I cannot get out of here like I have doe for three previous years with my cross country trips. I am hounding Thomas to spread the love out west because I am jealous of his current ability to do road trips and I just cannot get away.

I miss the open road already..... :(

I've been lurking here for a while now, just soaking up info where I can.. Been waiting for a clinic like this for a while now! If it's a go, I'm gonna do whatever I can to attend!! Got some serious "tweaking" to do and don't know where to start!
