the more time one spends sending emails, the less time one has to work....just sayin'is all. I waited a lot longer then the 6 weeks I was first told. All is well, your rifle will come home to you. Relax

well...think about it dude. its takes time to sift through the emails to find YOUR. and reply to just you.apparently everyone else who is waiting is not as important. He needs to work, reply to emails, work some more and then come on cgn and run damage control lol. if these threads did not exist, then, Im betting the time spend runing damage control could be spend replying to panicing customers. How manys tomes must people to tell you that ya, hes slow, some times dead lines are not met, and pass. and yeah, you will get your rifle...and....well, if your not happy with the work done after all of this, I'll take it off your hands for a fair price. you seam to be searching for negative coments towards the doc. we all know your waiting for your rifle. chill

It's very very hard to respond to emails..........such a confusing system. He must get like a billion emails a day......overwhelmed with emails from his customers.

Yaaaaaaaa....if you would stop emailing and pestering him he could get his work done alright>!@ Then again he doesn't respond to emails so this arguement is void.

Good luck to all involved

Well the Doc has stated in this thread that he's mostly up to date and only a few people like Cars have been waiting a really long time..... he could have addressed Cars questions right here in this thread but did not.
He also could have responded to the few people that have been waiting the longest with a quick update by email..... simple enough.

Being slow is one thing, but telling people you are going to do something, ( like ship a gun this week) and then not doing it and avoiding contact is something else....

The guys that take their time and always do the job to the best of their ability are rarely ever concerned with time tables and regular communication, their concern is with the utmost quality of their work. Usually there is a steady stream of people who complain about the wait or the cost of the work, or not always knowing what goes on. There are those that appreciate quality and have no concern for time tables or communication as they trust the final product.

I don't know what kind of guy the M14 doctor is, but there is a steady stack of guys who vouch for his work and don't care at all about the wait.

I agree to a point but then the clients should be told that it will take as long as it takes and there will be no communication unless absolutely necessary.

Tell the customer it could take up to a year and then when you get the job done in 7 months you look like a hero!
Learn to double and then double again the time you think it will take.

The Doctor has admitted growing pains and I'm sure he will do better in the future as he gains more experience.

If you give someone a date or tell them " it will ship next week" and then can't deliver on your word a quick message to update the client is appropriate.

This lack of communication is seen as normal in the gunsmith trade and the fact is our options are somewhat limited so a smith can still be busy even if he leaves some of his clients hanging in the dark.

Sorry but this type thread I thought deserved some comical relief.

Sorry that's not him. He doesn't have a trigger group in his hands and he has lots of hair. No way it's him.

kinda looks like him...maybe we need to get somone to sketch one with waldo and an m14. thy only point I have ever tried to make is this. Complaining on line is kinda pointless.

Give it a rest already. Where else would you suggest ppl complain then?

There is another thread on CGN at the moment with concerns about a well known gunsmith and his lack of communication. Whether you agree with M14 Doc or not, at least he has responded, more than once, to people's concerns online. People do have a right to ask, I've done it myself, about overdue repairs or expedient shipment of guns. These online discussions are usually effective when done respectfully. (Not suggesting otherwise on this thread.)

This seems to be a problem in this country. A growing number of shooters and a very small number of competent gunsmiths. I have visited Thomas on many occasions and have seen the guns and stocks he is working on. I wasn't kidding when I say he always has a trigger group or stock in his hands. One of his biggest concerns is guns he has been sent that others have "worked" on and he has to fix before he can do the modifications the customer asked for. More delays.

Carsmovies I hope you get your rifle soon. I know it is important to Thomas that people enjoy and appreciate the job he does. I know it bothers him when things don't go well. I suspect you will get your rifle soon.
