m14 fever

You know what I love most about my M305s? It's that they're real, honest to gosh, actual M14s. I firmly believe this because I can't read, and I'm an idiot. If only there was someone out there on the moderate end of the autism spectrum who could pedantically remind me every...single...time it comes up...

ah cmon Pop, everyone needs a lil ray of sunshine every now and then , especially CGN hehehehe

LOL...I can't believe that Pop lost it before I did. I've been biting my tongue for months and a few weeks ago put that special someone on block.

Archangel stock is nice for sure but when you go down the LRB or JRA path, might as well go all out and get a JAE stock. Then really the mortgage calcator needs to come into play. Just received mine and will probably be installing it over the long weekend. Will post pictures for sure (and of target as well asap).

I had one in the archangel stock, found it awkward and heavy. I sold that off and now I have a telescopic choate stocking coming, and I hope that works out. I can't see spending the money on a black feather setup or ag composite carbon fiber.

I love my Archangel stock. if you want to try out the cheaper option, you can always sell it later and upgrade to one of the more expensive ones. but unless I had a really nice high end M14, I'd never look any farther than the archangel one to drop your M305 into. here's mine.

Great video, Segue. As a side note, it was amazing how much daylight was showing between the stock and the receiver heel when you were shooting off the bench.

There are so many nice stocks out there.

The Archangel works well as a bench or prone rifle, I have one on one of my M-305's. The M-305 is not a drop in , into the Archangel, or the Choate stocks. They need a little fitting because they are made for the Springfield M1A, not the M-305.

Yeah, you gotta fit that stock to the receiver so that it will fit flush

Mine comes and goes when opportunities arise.

Purchased a Polytech years ago. Swapped out the chui wood for GI real walnut very early on. Followed by 6x42 Israeli scope and mount, GI flash hider, GI bayonet/scabbard, and very recently an M14E2 stock.

Bipod, cheekpiece, front handgrip to follow sometime in the near future perhaps??

its all good............:)

Quickest cure is realizing you are not buying an M-14. You may be able to pop down Stateside to one of the MG shoots(Not the shop in Vegas. No rifles there.) and shoot a real M-14 though.
Decide what you want to do with an M305/M1A. Decide how much money you can spend, including optics if you think you need that.

I have a Winchester and many moons ago had a TRW I shot regularly. Most real M14 rifles were delivered as semi auto rifles and remained that way throughout their service lives. Civilian copies look the same, feel the same and shoot the same. If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck it's a duck. The Rockola is a very nice copy of the original and although I don't have a Norinco I talked a few buddies into getting them and wrapped in a GI stock they look pretty darn close.

Feed that fever while you can.

This picture was taken about 4 years ago.

I sold off the 3 M14s on the right since the picture was taken.
The 2 that remain are in different stocks today.

You guys have some great looking rifles.

Any of you in the GTA are invited to come and shoot them on Sunday, May 17 at the Winona Range (near Hamilton, beside the QEW). Be there at 7;30 to sign in.

I will be shooting a standard length Norc in a GI plastic stock, iron sights. My son will shoot his new shorty.

We shoot at 100, 200 and 300, with a sight in to start at each distance. Shoot includes pop up targets and moving targets. Lots of fun.

PM me for more info.
