Anyone have a source for m14 gas system shims in Canada?
I've seen them in the USA for about 10 bucks for a set

One canadian site has them for 30 bucks before shipping....for a couple pieces of shaved metal...
I'll pay for them gladly but 30 bucks plus tax and shipping for some pieces of scrap metal seems wild even by canadian markup standards

Is there any other place I'm not seeing?

I got fed up with buying shims out of the USA. So I found a local outfit that was willing to laser cut them for me.

15 thou thick (they didn’t want to do 10 thou, 15 thou or thicker only), stainless steel. I had to order 250 to make it happen. I don’t generally sell stuff but if you’re really hard up drop me a line. You won’t like the price too much, if $30 for 4 shims from Nordic Marksman has your blood pressure up....

Get some shim stock from Grainger or the like and punch out your own...that's what we did at Hungry's clinic years ago.

I made mine in a couple thicknesses from some 18mm washers and ground down to .010", .015", .020" etc. They are 18mm ID 22mm OD

If you're near calgary you can have my spares

someone should talk to the folks taking over Range Rabbit. I read he had an Iron Worker in his shop..... a custom die and a handy individual could be pounding out m14 shims in no time.

An old buddy had a set laying around.
Yeah 30 bucks for shims is robbery. Jesus.....

Now to find a barrel vise so I can index this #####.
I've used homemade hard wood jigs with success the last two builds but this one needs some serious torque.
I knew a guy back in Ontario at the last posting I used to borrow his.
Anyone in Alberta have one I can borrow if I pay shipping both ways?
