M14 in 30-06 and 8mm ...

I'm a bit curious about the bolt... ...is this a garand bolt w/ M14 roller? Wonder if it would allow regular M14 front end to be attached to regular garand rear? It may be big, it may be heavy; however, I've got a special place in my heart for milsurpian 308 garand variants.

I would love to see more battle rifle type 30 06 in semi auto, or just modern well made wood stock garand clones.
 
At some point in the new year I'm gonna pay to have a .338 Federal M14 barrel and possibly a 260 rem barrel made up for some playing around. Both have been successfully built in the past.

Now an SAFN remake in those calibers...that would be interesting. Or an SAFN in .308...that would be very interesting. Or a Garand designed around the .308. All of those would interest me more...

I have a safn in 308 and it is fast becoming my favorite although a small part of me will always be with the 305
