M14 in 7.62 x 39

Mini 30 is the only thing close to an M14 in 7.62x39.

Maybe your mixing it up with the M1 Carbine. I think it had a shorter casing length and sort of resembles the m14

An M1 Carbine looks nothing like an M-14. No such thing as one of either in 7.62 x 39. The Carbine's bolt is too small. The M-14's too big plus the receiver length is way too long.
There were 5 test rifles AR-10's made for Finland in the mid 50's though. Always thought that was as good combination.

No I know what gun I'm talking about it was the caliber that I was wondering about. I read 7.62 x 51. I recalled X39, my mistake, but you've all been more than effective clearing it up. Thank you.

It's essentially a difference in cartridge brass thickness resulting in different pressures, doesn't hurt the gun but be mindful when reloading because there's a psi difference of around 2 grains.
