Like everyone else I'm finding it a huge task to remove the stupid welded flash hider. So my question is does the op rod guide block need to be installed or will it run fine with the factory one...

Also why has none of the importers delt with them welding them on I don't see why they do this

Can any one here in Edmonton help me get this bastard off or lend me the pliers

You could, but I would not run any action in a SAGE chassis without using their proprietary op rod guide block.

My answer is YES, you need to install the SAGE op rod guide block, especially if you want enhanced accuracy.

You also need a GI length lock pin for the op rod spring guide.

Remove allen screw then back off the castle nut , get a big freakin hammer and a punch .
Place the punch on the bayonet lug if it has one and hit the punch HARD .
The spot welds will break and the flashider will move forward against the castle nut , unscrew the castle nut some more and keep tapping the flashider off. You may have to clean up the barrel a bit where it was spot welded. I have taken off over a dozen of these with this method and only damaged one flashider .

I'm having bigger problems now when it's in the sage the hammer will not lock back but in the factory stock it functions flawless.... Screw I'm I will just buy a real M1a. stupid Chinese made junk

Sounds like it is failing the trigger after assembly test....on other stocks its an easy fix .The area under the trigger pads and at the front of the cutout would just need a bit of material removed from the stock .
A little bit of material is removed at a time and the rifle is tested again until it will pass the test . Are you familiar with this test ?
Not sure how this is corrected in your Sage stock , send a message to H2O Man or 45ACPKing as they knows alot about fitting those stocks.

All of my M14s are built on "stupid Chinese made junk", and the only time this problem occurred was with a Gen 1 Mod 1 stock.
Smith Enterprise was doing the build, and solved the problem by milling material from the rear section of the stock where the trigger group sits.
