Hey there , i was about to head of to the range and as usual i check all my firearms before going to the range and something wierd is happening .

I cleaned this rifle maybe 6 months ago before putting it away for the winter and just now when i checked it its having a problem cocking the hammer with stiff resistance , i almost have to give a good tug to #### the hammer.

This wasnt happening 6 months ago and just wondering if anyone maybe has an idea of what it could be .. I dont see any excessive wear on the tracks or locking lugs and the bolt unlocks fine until it hits the hammer then the issue starts.

Once its cocked its smooth as butter again and when the trigger group is removed the problem is not existent. however upon inspection of the trigger group i cant see any excessive or abnormal wear on the hammer face .

All the usual parts are lubed with moly grease and i decided to try some moly grease in certain parts of my trigger group instead of oil this time.

WTF? , thanks lol.

my muscles are just fine... haters lol ..

Ok , so after a few hours of cleaning and reassembling and head scratching i finally found out what part is causing the issue .. When i rack the bolt the part of the bolt that catches on that little point on the hammer is where its locking up .

The point on the hammer is actually a bit damaged and has a rough feel to it almost like the metal has a lip to it now .. what do you think caused this and can i fix it by simply sanding lightly and polishing ?

(bonus is i also got to shim my gas system while tinkering around , hurray for a 3oclock tightening position )
