Hey,

Can anyone lay it out for me? I been trying to figure out who to contact, what site t go too, and its hard, when half the people do not reply.

I would like to upgrade my crap poly.

Trigger Job.... Who can do it? 2 stage NM 4.5 lb trigger job? Quality?
Looking for USGI stock. ( crazy horse stock )
Internals, I cant find a Canadian retailer with a good list of parts. I do not care if they are USGI, but I would like it to be the same quality or better.
Smith Enterprise crazy horse scope mount? Who retailers? What about sateilk or how ever you spell it mount? Titanium made?

Where can I get upgraded iron sights?Best ones? good quality ones? USGI ones?

New flash suppressor that would lower the muzzle clim? I do not have issues controlling since I am a big guy, and .308 is not a big deal, but I would like to improve the follow ups.

Nice sling? So many to choose from, but hard to find something field tested. Specially keeping in mind the cold weather we have. Leather I heard does not work well in cold temps.

Lastly, do I need to upgrade the gas system? Who offers them? Can I get a adjustable gas system so I can fire 180 grains?

Finally where can I get USGI m14 mags? the Poly are ok, but I would like higher quality ones.


If someone could answer some questions for me, it would save me weeks of research on top of the weeks of failed research LOL!

I know m14 doc is busy, I am not sure what he can offer. Growing a bit impatient. For me, waiting for quality work is not big deal. If your reading this DOc, let me know. I'll send you my rifle, and just send it back when your done. Spring sounds good to me.
 
okies.... i better chime in although tonite i'm at about 1/2 way thru the 187 new emails i received while my internet was down.
so if yer reading this and have not got a fresh email from me or a reply to questions ect..... I'm getting there.

I perform FULL NM conditioning and accurizing as well as parts installations.
I do not offer parts for sale except what i occasional flog off on the EE from my personal stash unrelated to the business.
I manufacture custom m14 stocks in composite materials, and am just about ready to release a standard NM m14 stock, a dealer i am working with will make any announcements on that.
I might have a mint usgi fiberglass stock set, black with bipod stud and tacpro adjustable cheek riser..... the original purchaser is deciding on it.

as for trigger jobs, I have a growing number of clients who are simply loving thier Doctor tuned civillian match trigger jobs.

for scope mounts, brownells might be able to hook you up with a smith ent mount or you can go directly to ARMS 18 and order thiers (my favorite) and i think sadlak might be able to sell direct. not sure about the necessity of a titanium mount but definately steer clear of stand alone aluminum ones.

for iron sights, again brownells is your friend, they sell rear sight sets, you need to order everything but the cover.

for a muzzle brake to fit the standard m14 flash hider splines, most folks go with a smith enterprise coast guard muzzle brake..... the EE or brownells.

hmmmmm, not sure if i've missed anything.
pm me, I'll give you my top secret shop number LOL and we an discuss what i can and can't do for you. M14 type rifles is all i do so there is not much i can't do.... except offer parts.

many garand parts will fit
the rear sights, hammer, trigger/sear, plunger tube, spring and piston, ect so also try marstar for bits and pices as they are known to have the odd stash of these excellent upgrade parts.

as for usgi parts, your only source will be the EE. these parts are illegal to export out of the u.s. unless they come on a complete rifle.

usgi mags..... can't help you there although i hear decent mags are coming soon, but not from me ;)

oh I am willing to wait for quality. In the end s**t quality will not let me enjoy it, and will take just as long, plus double the funds to resolved my mistakes. I will do it right from the beginning. Hunting season is over for me so no rush.

Yes, I am lucky :p.

Once hunting season is over, I'll be sending my M305 trigger group to Doc for some of his magic.

I've heard far too many GOOD things about Doc's work and quality to pass that up.
