M14/M1A accuracy challenge over at the M14 forum...

unrealistic imo.
this drill is something that frank galli on snipers hide does with his "precision rifle" classes.
Expecting a lightly modded or hell, even a highly modded m1a/m14 to do this is expecting a lot.

I just picked up some new Lapua brass and a bunch of CCI BR2s and, while I have no illusions of success, I'm keen to try it and see just how far off I get.

Thanks for playing, guys, this is just for fun! There's nothing to lose and in the end, you will learn things you never would have known if you hadn't tried. I learned a lot form the 1.5 MOA challenge.

Tony.

I can get 1 to 1.5 with 10 rounds but invariably there is always a damn flyer that screws up the group. Now having said that I have the rifle installed in a Sage EBR stock. The only other changes are a Sadlak piston, spring guide and op rod spring. This is with carefully prepared ammunition, 168 gr SMK, Remington brass, 41.3gr IMR4895. From my research this is the minimum requirement for the weapon to be accepted by the US military for battlefield use as a designated rifle company, or squad marksman. I do believe that with a super match barrel this rifle could be made to shoot the flies off a target at 100 meters. As it is it is just a rack grade Norinco. From what others have posted about their ChiCom M305es I got very lucky with mine, it is one of the newer ones. Seems like the Chinese may have improved on their QC
