M14 M1A Mags are a scaresity now

Are the mags from Lever pinned or do they use a follower to block the rounds to 5?

Not allowed to have the follower block any more as it is "too easy" to re and re the follower with a new one. Pinned are the only ones you will find at retail now.

If any of you need some for the Cariboo M14 clinic coming up and aren't in Vancouver, I can get some from Lever for you and bring them with me. They're about $35 each plus tax. Lemme know by this weekend and I'll get you some.

I had heard a rumour that CanadaAmmo was looking to bring some in at a pretty good price but that they wouldn't be here in time for the July clinic. Frowney face.

hey, even in the good old days the 20 round mags were 5/100 niw- 35 is NOT unreasonable now

hmmmmmm........

Or we can altogether do a brain power telepathy towards Ottawa and implant into Stevie's subconscious mind to reverse old Mulroney's C17 and scrap the lousy 5 round restriction on rifles, then we can all get full 20 round mags once and for all eh?...eh?....eh? ;)

Cmon boys altogether now BRAIN POWER!!!!

Alright Ive said my piece now someone kick my ass outa here :D

I'll go out on a limb and say the 5 rd limit probably wont ever change, so we're just gonna have to deal with $35+ for a good looking 5 rd mag.

I will/can teach you how to change mags very quickly ! No worries! :D All good training! It's the shooter, not the rifle!

Either way, Lever has the magazines for $ 25 and we should grab a pile of them!

Cheers,
Barney

Thanks CM
I don't do business with Lever Arms
But thanks for the heads up
RC

Smart fellow. The owner couldn't even be bothered to look at me while dismissing a question about a shotgun I was seriously looking at. I won't do business with Lever Arms either. Many other fellow shooters feel the same way.

Hmmmm Hmmmm Hmmmmm ... anyone know where one could find 10/5 rounders by chance??? :D

Hmmmm.... I would settle for 10/10 rounders hmmm.... ala AIA hmmmm..... :D

Really? And who's call was that? I dont see anywhere in the law that says that you cant use a follower. Rivet pins are no harder to remove than a follower and those who want to break the law foolishly will. This is just absurdity that lacks common sense.

And its not "too easy" to drill out a rivet? That only takes a few seconds, and you don't have to dissassemble the mag to do it!

I have a couple of 10/10 AIA's. Lots of fun. Though.. I noticed last time I was shooting with them, that I had the problem where if you remove the mag, the bolt slams home. It's not catching on the bolt stop. I haven't looked to see whether this is a problem with the mag, or whether it's a problem with my bolt stop.

Either way it's a lot of fun shooting the 10/10's and if anyone has more of them, I will happily buy them :)

Actually the reason why I want to buy 5/10's is to use them for spare parts to repair the AIA's if they ever break. Unless it's the case itself that breaks, I think the spring inside is identical, for example. The follower... is almost identical... the AIA follower is made of slightly different material and is a different colour than my norc follower, though it looks to be the identical size/shape. I would be a bit leery swapping that as I'm not sure at what point the magazine would become a Norc magazine and therefore prohibited. I assume primarily it's about the casing, but I don't know how far I'd want to push that.
