M14 M1A Mags are a scaresity now

And its not "too easy" to drill out a rivet? That only takes a few seconds, and you don't have to dissassemble the mag to do it!
i think the crux of the matter is the "without tools" clause- you can replace the follower provided you can get the floorplate off- removal of the rivet takes a drill or file

Also dropped into Lever to grab 4 5/20, they had a few boxes full on the floor. Im in Vancouver so easy for me to drop in. Priced at 25 each, and pinned, all can fit 5 1/2 rounds so a good setup. All fit my JAE G2, Troy MCS and AKM with no problem. The 5 rounders are way to hard to get out of the mentioned stocks.

$25 each? was that a walk-in price? their website says $35.

I have a couple of 10/10 AIA's. Lots of fun. Though.. I noticed last time I was shooting with them, that I had the problem where if you remove the mag, the bolt slams home. It's not catching on the bolt stop. I haven't looked to see whether this is a problem with the mag, or whether it's a problem with my bolt stop.

Either way it's a lot of fun shooting the 10/10's and if anyone has more of them, I will happily buy them :)

Actually the reason why I want to buy 5/10's is to use them for spare parts to repair the AIA's if they ever break. Unless it's the case itself that breaks, I think the spring inside is identical, for example. The follower... is almost identical... the AIA follower is made of slightly different material and is a different colour than my norc follower, though it looks to be the identical size/shape. I would be a bit leery swapping that as I'm not sure at what point the magazine would become a Norc magazine and therefore prohibited. I assume primarily it's about the casing, but I don't know how far I'd want to push that.

Check your " blot stop ".........sorry , I had to.

I don't make the regs, I only read them.

And could you please direct us to these regs that you read, sorry I don't believe you but I don't believe you. The last few m14 mags I got had the follower pin block. Speaking of internally blocked how about those AR mags that use the spring itself as the limiter. I have not seen anything in regs that addresses either method.

The regs are vague and open to interpretation, thats the problem. I have some M14 mags that have the tail on the follower, and some that are rivet pinned. I don't stay up late worrying about either method, I just use them.

Are you kidding me ? i have nightmares when i take my 5/20 magazines apart to clean them , that at any minute my door might be kicked down by stormtroopers calling me a baby murderer... then i wake up in a cold sweat and check all my magazines and fall asleep with a handful of valium .. its a self perpetuating cycle.

if we could get the border opened , it wouldn't be such a big deal- there's TREMENDOUS following stateside not only for usgi, but m1a and all kinds of after market- cdnn comes to mind, even though they make a crappy mag- the so called "shortage" in this country is due to itar and our border people,
remember, we used to buy these things 20 mags at a time in the old days, before pinning- it's not unusual for an old fart who has more than one rifle to have 40 or more- the average loadout was 4 in pouches, one in the gun, and another dozen or more in the ruc- my drag bag carries 6; now you MUST have a full rig for every rifle, you get the idea
same deal with the ar- 7-30 rounders( 3 in each pouch) plus 6 more in the dedicated ruc pouches
they used to come in a box like bren gun mags- 10 on each side, with a space in the middle-

Hmmmmmmmm I'm not going to war and don't want to relive packing full C1 mags. So I'm happy with 4 mags for each rifle. Hmmmmmm
