M14 M1a Mod job

I kind of like the way he chopped his standard flashider for a cheap way of shortening the overall length. Would this affect the accuracy?

Can the M14 be fired without the flashider without any ill affect?

No reason why not. The castle nut holds the front end on, and keeps the front sight from rattling.
