M14 m1a rear sight pb/usgi ???????????

What is this sight? Brand new it's under 100$ from treeline m14, so I should be able to order it.

Here's what the write up says "Brand new rear sight, PB (Beretta) elevation pinion, PB windage knob, USGI base, sight cover and aperture. The elevation pinion is from BM59 production and marked in meters. All parts are brand new from wrap. Beautiful!"

Is it better or worse than a USGI one?

My norinco one doesn't really adjust... So I'm looking for a quality rear sight. Thoughts?
 
The BM59 sights are great. Pretty much identical to USGI sights. Hard to say what would make me choose one over the other. The PB sights I have are original and have nice white lettering whereas the USGI sights I have are refinished and do not. You can't go wrong with either, Treeline won't disappoint.

Quality sights for sure.
I have a set of complete and correct winchester GI sights in the EE for considerably more, but they are new and never fielded since the day they came out of usgi packaging ;)
As ardent says, garand = yards, BM59 and USGI M14 are meters.
 
There is only one really small, teeny-tiny annoyance to them new USGI / BMR / PB sights.... :evil:

They are Soooo new, that they take an extra amount of fiddling and getting them threads to bite during the installation process. Just ask the Sudbury (Jan 2013) Clinic dudes this question. We installed about 3 sets but they were a beeeyotch to install. They are just TOO NEW! :cool:

They track equally well. And wait until you figure out what "Left" in Italian means... It's stands for "Sinistra" since lefties were considered "sinister". Correct me anybody if I am wrong. I don't wanna be spreading the wrong information here. :D

"Sinistra" is left in Latin, and happens to be the same in Italian. The word came to have an evil meaning since many cultures considered lefties (and the direction itself) "touched by the devil," and so we have "sinister" meaning evil in english.

Similarly, "right" also meaning "correct", "good", or "just" happens in a lot of cultures as well.

Thanks for all the info guys! I lactated the #### out of my norinco site, I'll try that out, if it holds its zero, I'll keep it on. But if I have to mess with it even once, I'll order the pb/usgi sight.

edited- haha, just noticed that my spell check changed loctighted to lactated. Made me laugh, so I left it there.
 
For $100, I'd buy a proper set of sights. They're the best sights ever put on a fighting rifle and in many ways superior to a red dot and with practice equal to most scopes. I just stretched my Garand and LRB's irons to 1,000 yards and they group little different than if scoped with practice, how many sighting options give you zero to 1000 yards, no cheek risers, no extra weight, tough as nails, no jamming issues with mounts? :) They're remarkable sights, I'd make use of them.
