Just looking for a bit of feed back. I shoot a m1a supermatch and I've been loading 45g 4320 and using 155 grain moly hpbt match speers (what a mouthful). They shoot pretty well but I'm wondering if anybody out there has found a better combo. I'm at the point where I have to buy another box of bullets and I'm debating whether 155g or 168 or even 175. input please!

cheers,

yep 1/10" in the springfield supermatch. I get 3/4" groups pretty well all the time with my handloads @ 100meters. (minus the odd flyer when I took a sip of my beer when reloading...... :) ) Just trying to get that next 1/4" :)

by the way your 6.5mm comment (signature) just ordered up the XCR and got put on the list for the 6.5 conversion kit....woohooo!

168 grain match bullets with IMR4064 and regular large rifle primers for distances up to 600 yards. The 175 grain Matchkings with the same powder and primers for past 600 yards.
Palma 155's are ok, but the .308 loves the 168 grain bullets. Mind you, if you decide to shoot Palma matches, you can only use the 155's.
No matter what bullet you use, meticulous loading is essential. Weigh every charge carefully.
If you decide to hunt with it, and there's no reason not to(except maybe for the pile of money you have invested), use 165 grain hunting bullets with IMR4064. The .308 loves them too. A 165 grain hunting bullet will kill any game you care to hunt.

You neck size only in a M1A? That's asking for trouble.
Just started neck sizing about 200rnds with no issues just really tight groups.
I read Mysticplayers webpage on loading for M305/M-14 and deceided to try
this is how I will be doing it from now on.

OK, each to his own and good luck. I tried that ages ago and had a few slamfires. That was enough for me to drop neck sizing for M-14's. Everything goes through the FL die for an M-14 for me.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of the Full Length Small Base Dies for reload. I find that you run the risk of having base flare and the extractor ripping the back end of the shell off.

I've been using the 4320 IMR and 155 Palma Match, and I think I'm going to try the 168's with 4895.
