M14 mag fit AIA rifle?

Will a five round M14 magazine fit and operate in the M10 AIA rifle?

What's wrong with using a 5 round mag on a rifle that can legally have a 10 round mag?

It is a bolt action rifle. Mag limit does not apply.

All true, but the M14 magazine was designed for a semi-auto rifle, therefore is limited to 5 rounds no matter how, what, where it's used. You cannot de-pin an M14 20 rounder because it's going to be used in a bolt gun... that de-pinned mag can still fit and function in the semi-auto.

I'd love to hear from HeadDamage once he gets his 5 rounder...

i have both a AIA and M14 the mags are not interchangable. The AIA mags have part of the magazine stud ( i think filed down so they can fit). I think you would be able to modify one but it won't be able to go back onto your M14.

M14/305 mag will not lock up in my AIA. The rear latch is contoured a bit differently.

I'm sure they don't want anyone popping a 10 round mag onto their M14s.

Turns out the 10 round AIA mags do fit into the M14, and it cycles the ammo.
Still not sure if its legal, but no modifications are needed.
