What are people running for mag pouches? I want to try my m14 out at a 3 gun match and need some good mag pouches. Preference is for belt pouches.

I use the good old m-1956 Universal Small Arms Ammunition pouch http://www.charleyssurplus.com/army_military_field_gear/pouches_and_trenching_gear/m-1956_universal_small_arms_ammo_pouch. It was good enough for me in Nam it is good enough for me in Colorado. I think I saw some new one in nylon but can't find them now. Just remember if you do use the M1956 pouches magazine are inserted upside down and the rear of the magazine to the rear. This is per FM 23-8 dated 15 April 1974, Chapter 8, Paragraph 87a, Magazine Carrying.

I got these as a gift from Tacticaltecher and am not sure of the brand name but they work well for my elanders and my AR mags . I added the double pistol pouch .

you know you can take m16 mag pouches and stick 14 mags in them, just sideways instead of fore and aft- that way you don't have to deal with the heavy canvas of the 56 series-- also the later or last issue of the fn kit- those are nice since they have the pull up tab, but might not always fit- that's because of the welded on button at the rear of the mag- if u can, take your mag with you when you're buyin g surplus.

I'm a Tactical Tailor pouch fan. Decent price point, deployable (too bad I'm not), great construction, and made in Tacoma area, WA state!

Dave's Surplus/ Tactical, a board sponsor has them for the M14 fun!

Cheers and keep helping them nooobies out there! :)
