What is the difference/mod for M14 mags used in AR10s?

I assume a different follower which holds the bolt open, am I right? Anything else?

I remember reading somewhere that the M14 had an ambidextrous magazine release and the AR10 doesn't so there was some modification necessary to effect it's release from the rifle... the article was about the AR10 Carbine but I can't imagine that makes a difference.

Assuming that you are talking about current Armalite AR-10s. Then the Armalite follower is different than the m-14 follower, though the m-14 follower will work, though it won't engage the hold open device. You still need to cut a hole in the left side of the mag body for the AR-10's Mag release. If you're using the Armalite followers then you also need to make a rectangular cut in the top of the mag on the back so the spring loaded catch on for the hold open device can actually engage it.

hope that helps
