So you can get two different mags for the M14S', a 20 round pinned to 5 or a smaller 5 round mag.

Which ones do people prefer and why?

All the pictures of M14's people post have always used the larger mags. Granted I find the smaller mags are a little harder to manage but I like the looks of them (seems to give the M14 a more M1 look).

Also what is an average price to purchase a 5/20 mag from the EE here? I searched but couldn't find any.

I Prefer the 5/20's because when i start to get tired shooting, I just rest my arm on my chest, and put the base of the magazine in the palm of my hand. You can also remove the 5/20's a lot easier. As well, as everyone knows, they look much cooler :)

I like the 5/20's my self. They look proper, easier to manipulate, and I have never had a 5 rounder that works without any issues.

Don't pay more than $35 cuz thats what you can get them from MarStar for new. My buddy bought two 5/20's from AlSimmons for $50 each when he got his M14 and I cringed.

the 303 gets away with it b/c it's a bolt- the 5 round limit applies to semi only- hunting regs may vary

the 5 rounders are an absolute nuisnce to pull out- way back when this mess ( campbells days) i had to get 4 of themags from SPrINGFIELD as we didn't know whether
we'd be allowed to pin or we had to SURRENDER them all - so rather than be without i got 4 5 round mags- 50 bucks a pop in 92 dollars- we were getting usgi surplus for 5/75 or some such price- well the surrunder NEVER came to pass, and i hade to pin about 2 dozen mags- the only time i used the so called "parade " mags was hunting in case some c/o wanted to bust me for huntine with an illegal mag

ahh so many rules that just plain ole suck. kinda like whats sooo bad about taking a hand gun out into the bush to do some shooting..nothing makes it more dangerous then a rifle or shotgun

i can see one right away- a pistol- any pistol is easily concealed and the conservation officers don't want to deal with a concealed weapon- and most pistols don't really have enough umph to deal with dangerous wildlife until you get into magnum range- granted, i'd love to carry my 45 acp into the bush and something is better than nothing, but that's not how they see it- they see it as a threat to them

A better choice is the AIA 10 rounders......easy to remove, not as big as a 20 rounder, and it's designed for a 10 round bolt action rifle! :dancingbanana:

yes, but good luck finding any. I went straight to the source at AIA and they say that thier sole canadian dealer is marstar and will not sell direct.

we must bug marstar to order a bunch, last time i talked to AIA, they had over 50,000 units of the AIA mag, availlable to order.
