Any chance that a g3 or fn fal magazine would work , they look close enough .
no modifications to magazine or rifle.
we used the same 2 AIA mags in 4 different rifles yesterday. all with different guide rods ie : marstar, rauch, tartan and sadlak sorry FIVE rifles...... counting one of our VPD members who brought his newly tuned m14 out so i could walk him through zeroing and sight adjustment. 3 rifles had extended bolt stops and 2 rifles had sadlak extended mag releases. ALL parts, mags ect in original factory condition.
result, they all went bang, everytime with no malfunctions thru several hundred rounds.
Do they hold the bolt open after final round is ejected?
They should - they use an M14 follower that's been chromed.
What I'm more wondering about is how the mag is retained in the rifle at the front end? There does not appear to be a square hole in the front for the guide rod to clip into? Does it just stay put with friction?
Let me put it this way....... the Only two differences between an M14 mag and an AIA is that the AIA has no square hole in the front where the m14 mag has one and the followers are chromed. Otherwise, the two mags are the same. I have also been told that AIA mags are made in china and no doubt by the same machines used to make m14 mags![]()
The shape of the rear latch is slightly different on the AIA mag, also. It has a bevel on the bottom as opposed to the square corner of the M14 mag. Or is it the other way around? Can't remember for sure right now.
