M14 Mags

I didn't bother to return it because its not worth the shipping and time, I got these mags to test, i have so many other, and in time i will try and see what can be done to the follower, it was $30, its not worth spending $10+ to ship it back.

I just acquired a SOCOM II and was looking for a used Thermold to "test out". At $40 all in new I was a little hesitant to order until I did some research. Thanks

http://www.canstararms.ca has 5/10 M14 magazines for $19 each.
I have two of them and they function just fine, only issue with mine is that they are pinned to high and only hold four rounds.
They may have corrected this issue since I purchased mine.

Is this in reference to the Thermold mags?

No, the mags from canstar arms are a different magazine.

Thanks to gnmontey I bought the last ones from Canstar. Seems like a nice guy even though his trader rating isn't the greatest. :)

He has 5/30s as well.

SAI 5/10 mags are listed as 5 rounds. They're limited with a wood insert. You can get them from Brownells or SAI webstore. Just make sure you pick the "long" 5 rounder and not the short ones, and stay under the 100$ gunparts limit.

^^^Is the $100 limit at brownells just on parts or acessories as well?

On parts. When in doubt (grip, bipod, rail, etc) I call them to make sure.
I also specify to ship with USPS so I don't get stolen but UPS.
Finally if you have a liquid (oil, etc) or battery (flashlight, etc) in your order, they can't ship it with USPS.

Yeah it lets you take them completely apart if you want to without the follower hanging up on the rivet.

Beware - there are some 5/20’s out there from Marstar with the finned follower’s, that when played with a little, can have 6 rounds inserted. To correct this problem Marstar later started riveting their mags with the finned follower‘s. Some of the riveting by Marstar was sloppy though allowing only 5 rounds rather than 5 & 1/2 rounds needed for proper functioning. The finned follower‘s are nice because they allow easy disassembly and cleaning.
