I ordered one of the $18 David Tubb springs from treelinem14. Does anyone know if these work well in Chinease m14's? I'm using an NEA guide rod.
The Rooster33 Match op rod spring guide I used never had any issues with USGI or Norinco op rod springs.................The Rooster33 op rod guide was made to National Match Specs..........If the NEA op rod guide is made to NM specs, I don't think you will have any issues.......
The USGI op rod spring is a little stronger then the Norc spring........
Yeah, you will be fine. Yer #### won'tfall off with any spring size conflict(s).
The NEA guide rod is sized for the smaller ID Norc spring IIRC.
If you get stuck (super big if...) I have USGI extra power springs here for only $ 11 mailed to you. I sell them at my clinics because people are worried about #### loss!
Cheers,
Barney
Kind of a moot point since Rooster spring guides are no longer in production but Rooster spring guides, like the Marstar ones, like the NEA, like M14 Doctor and any other Canadian manufacterer are generally all sized for Norinco(smaller diameter) springs. That said, because they are smaller diameter, they fit US springs but obviously have a little more wiggle room than US spring guides.
As far as I know, really only the US made ones are sized 'correctly' for US springs.
whats your stance on a gas cylinder wrench, Hungry?
I guess you missed the part about the Rooster33 op rod spring guide being made to National Match Specs.........NM Specs are a U.S Standard, and when Rooster33 made his guides, he made them for the M14 type rifles he owned, which were Springfields........![]()
What's the reason for upgrading the spring? Does it really make any difference? Does it have any downsides? Increased chance of a slamfire maybe?
