M14 parts in the Phillipines?

Has anyone tried to get USGI bolts/trigger groups/barrels/etc this way?

I'm going to be there for 10 days this fall and would love to buy a couple M14's sans reciever, from my initial research parts seem fine, just no full guns for foreigners.
 
The military is short on m14 rifle parts....so I don't think you will find any, besides you won't be allowed to buy/export them. Permits are required for everything!
 
Doesn't say anything about parts. All my contacts there see no issues. Maybe that's just because they're all relatively wealthy and the laws are definitely not applied fairly over there.
 
Even though I hate our restrictive laws (US and Canada both), this makes me think we've got it pretty easy over here. This is what you have to submit to get a license to own a firearm. I especially like the one in BOLD.

* PNP Form No.12 (Permit to Purchase Firearm and Ammunition)
* Firearm License Fee (EO256) and Surety Bond
* Firearm License Card Fee P150.00
* Deed of Sale or Affidavit of Transfer (For Transfer Firearm)
* Three (3) 2x2 and two (2) 1x1 ID pictures with signature
* Proof of Citizenship for Foreign Sounding names (Birth Certificate, etc.)

errrrr.... it's just a matter of knowing someone "influential" or knowing the right legal contact that matters in the R.P. :). A foreigner looking for these items in the Philippine market? You might not get it - if you don't have "connection". NOT because it is not available.... or if ever you find one, it might be pricey... why? just because you are a foreigner. period!! That's just how it is in that part of the world.
The worse case that could happen if you find one, you might end up buying imitation parts, which is really a piece of junk. Beware of those crappy imitation parts made from "tin can materials"!!!

BUT if you know someone who will "like" you... you might get lucky and be able to get it cheaper or even "FREE".....

One thing to remember....
If ever you make it to the R.P. Beware of private full auto shooting clubs that offers full auto shooting for money.... there are a few in Manila that will charge you PER ROUND - the price will be STAGGERING :eek: and you will not enjoy it when you get your bill. Just take this as a friendly advice :)

Trust me.. I grew up in the Philippines. :D

You are somewhat correct . I have a friend that has purchsed alot of NIW USGI parts in the Phillipines. Trouble is they are stuck there because there is some US law that forbids him from bringing them into the USA . He mentioned BAR parts and some others that were NIW.He is a pilot so he gets to fly around the world cheap and make contacts.
Sounds like a bum deal to me what good is the stuff if you can't use it ?
Your laws may differ on importation .

Importation (of USGI M-14 parts) is no problem if you can get the requisite permits.

Permits from DFAIT are required.

I don't think that permits would be required for parts that having nothing to do with full auto, but than again I'm no expert.
 
Only parts that are exclusively for a F/A M14 would be a problem, and I plan on leaving those behind if this were to work out.
 
FYI: several months ago I was denied an IIC import permit for M14 stocks because they deemed it part of a prohibited firearm. Even though they could fit an m1a or m14S, they said it was originally manufactured for the m14 and therefore could not be imported into canada. And this is just for the stock.
So you might want to look into the difference between importing m1a and m14 parts.
