I've been reading the calgary clinic feedback and remember this from seeing one of the clinic c.d.'s. Can someone explain this ping thing.
I understand it is heard when letting the op rod handle/bolt fly home..... and mine rings high pitch forever...... what is it about this ping that makes it a desirable thing?
We have a mini clinic, m14s get together on the 2nd of dec and i'd like to gather a bit more understanding before the clinic.

Hungry demonstrated this at the Milcun M14 Clinic during the summer. It basically means that your rifle's internals are "nice and tight". Always a good thing in my way of thinking.

It basically means that the rifle's various parts act more or less like a solid piece of metal, which creates the tuning fork-like "ping". A loose and sloppy rifle is not able to consistently shoot tight groups, and is a lot less fun. :D

Before the ping my #### was in serious danger of falling off.
BUT NO MORE!

Thanks to the Hungry Welfare Method (HWM) :D my m-14 rings like a tuning fork.

Now when the guys on the firing line hear my rifle pinging. They can be heard to whisper "That guy must be HUNG!"

Thanks to the HWM I have saved my manhood and my cash!
