i chose the irons only as i still like the idea of clip loading the rifle- yes i know you can use the spoon to load the mags, but it's still nice to have that third option and i don't require that kind of accuracy or range

iron gi m14 in meters. springfield one point contact art scope mount, springfield art scope. old school baby.

I went with iron because it's pretty much "bomb proof". I rather have sights that always work 110% of the time than one that "could" work 110%. Anything else you add to improve your sighting work, like optics, is icing on the cake. Have a strong foundation that works as your back-up. This is the main reason I picked the M14 as my only centerfire rifle.

Shorty with 18 3/4 barrel, folding stock, iron sights as back up,
and a 4x Bushnell Scopechief VI in Leupold QRW rings.

The shorty in the folder balances best for me,
and at my age, irons are now only backups.

Although I have 2 M-14's both are still Iron sighted, I really like shooting this way & would love to get some match type sights once I'm Worthy of having them!!!!!

:agree:

Couldn't have said it better -- so I won't bother.

You are absolutely right!

stock iron sights because of the weather in northern BC...rain...rain. the norinco sights work a little better with the effects of a little rust!
