Badger op rod guide is steel not stainless steel.

The Chinese op rod springs are a smaller dia than the US springs. Marstar has an NM Op Rod guide that worked with the Chinese spring but that is sold out.
So if you replace you op rod spring guide....remember to get an new op rod guide spring.

I have this spring with the badger and they work well together.

The Chinese spring will not work with the badger spring guide.

Thank you sir. I didn't want to buy the kit and didn't see they sold just this spring!

I figured that since I wanted to replace the spring guide, a new spring was in order due to the differences in the internal diameter of the Chinese spring. I will defiantly put that on order Monday. As far as the op rod spring guide, I would pick up that stainless one mentioned in the first reply but they are sold out everywhere. I figure as long as i keep the badger oiled, it should do the job. That is, unless anyone can suggest a Stainless guide that is in stock?

Slushee:

Hold off on buying the Badger (read: save yer money) and consider an M14Doctor spring guide that will work with your current Norc spring. :)

I'm running a Norc factory spring in my M14 2007 Norc and it's fine as many CGNutters who shot it yesterday at Base Borden will attest (Maritimer, Plink, Chaser69).

I'm typing up a review right now....

Cheers,
Barney

I shot my M14's extensively with both the USGI spring and Norinco factory spring (smaller in diam and 1/2" shorter). Not much difference in my scores nor is there much difference in function or reliability.

For many years, everyone here is all about Norinco products will guarantee #### loss so you should :runaway: from Norinco !

I'm on a mission to help you save yer money. All kinds of magazines and experts that hardly show up at our Service Rifle or Service CQB or DCRA's NSCC advocate swapping every single part outta yer Norinco; or else yer #### will fall  off.

There is no science or research (I did mention swapping out the elev and windage knobs before) recommending swaps with USGI schtuff. It's all about what works for YOU and your game. So save your money, buy practice ammo and turn up at the SR shoots hosted by the Calgary SR Assoc or BCRA or Nova Scotia Rifle Assoc or whomever pushes the game at you! :D

Cheers,
Barney
