I gotta hand it to John and his crew for putting together a great manual. This is the best by far of all the instructions that I have received when purchasing a firearm. Thanks again guys:) I'm a happy guy.

you should indeed thank john for the manual- i've had to acquire mine through various nefarious means including the net over the years- lord knows my original norc didn't come with one- thank god the chinese didn't take any "liberties" when building the clone of the m14- as it is i've got only 1 technical manual and fm23-8 for 4 rifles- but if you've got any GARAND experience at all, you can figure out the m14- or the other way- join that other country's armed forces - wonder if they still teach it in basic( that was almost 40 years ago-) stupidest thing you ever did see- you train with the 14 in basic and switch you to the 16 when you hit advanced

I was wondering. Is the manual a copy as well??

In it it mentions a match rifle....does Norinco make a match rifle??

but yes great manual. I was expecting bad grammar and broken engrish......LOL

i've never run into a match- however, there is a NATIONAL MATCH m14, and if the manual is lifted from that original, that's why- there's different sights on the national match and the internals are slightly different, but it doesn't amount to much- lots of guys ( like hungry) have moded their norcs to national match level

I have not seen the new M-305 manual but the manuals I got with my Norc 1911 and Np-22 had much better english writing than I was expecting.

Even if it is lifted no use reinventing the wheel, right guys.Again John, good job.Now can I get the same discount as Hungry? nudge nudge say no more.

there is excerpts in the norc manual, taken directly from the springfield manual.
one thing i noticed in the new norc manual...... it says NOT to diassemble your norc bolt..... ever...... how's a guy supposed to clean it properly after bangin away at the range all day?? How's a guy supposed to inspect his firing pin or bolt internals.... ?
nice lil booklet..... but .....

Yeah, looks like someone copied the Springfield manual.

y'know, i've never disassembled a bolt , nor does it say anything about doing one in the standard field manual fm 23-8 , which is probably where springfield lifted theirs from- however, the TECHNICAL MANUAL TM9-1005-223-12, page 40, describes in detail how to do it, using ONLY combination tool - but as we all know, it's best done with A 30-06 CASING- and it's well described in other places on the net

Okay, we gotta discuss this bolt disassembly issue again....

Don't take it apart. NEVER ! Well that's for you newbsticks !

If you really need to learn how to do such an operation, DO NOT do it with a Norinco M14 bolt !

Carry out your curiosity with a USGI M14 bolt because they do come together with a LOT less stress that the Norc bolt. The voice of experience speaking !! yer #### will fall off, well at least it will feel like it fell off !

Yes, the combination tool will help you strip your bolt (in a towel, at the bottom of your 'plugged' bathtub, you don't lose the ejector spring, etc). And yes the .30-06 case will help you put things back together, but make sure you chuck up that barreled receiver (stock optional) in a steady vise/position before you let the bolt body forward under spring pressure, then the right hand bolt lug wants to cam downwards, and the ejector wants to fight against the op rod spring (and bend at the same time), YOU might want to have a third or 4th hand helping you. Place a towel or several rags on the shop floor before to attempt to do this re-assembly.

I have not used a bolt re-assembly tool EVER ! I have used this method successfully for the past 21 years.....

1) gather all the parts you need
2) call your son/daughter/wife/girlfriend/boyfriend (hey, it's the new millienium), okay, I meant to say partner, and give them the plastic mallet
3) Chuck up a 1/4" screw/bolt in the vise.
4) push the quasi-assembled bolt with the ejector INTO the 1/4" bolt
5) Then once your ejector is flush with the bolt face, yell to your partner to TAP that top of the extractor down firmly.

Good luck.... If you are in super trouble and have not LOST the bolt parts, mail the bolt to me since I just bought an M1/M14 bolt tool for the first time in my M14 life, for the purposes of teaching M14 clinics and bailing your poor souls out. :D

so there's a REASON it's not in the field manual?- snicker, snicker- after 30 + years of having these things around, like i said, i never had to dissassemble a bolt- and i've got 4 in the safe right now. - i've never liked having to TAP anything- involves use of a HAMMER , which i was taught was VERBODEN unless ABSOULTELY NECESSARY- btw, the SPRINGFIELD manual, is AVAILIBLE ON THE NETfrom their site- for those of you that didn't get one, or it's also known as FM23-8- i never got involved to the extent that HUNGRY ,MYSTIC, and a few others on here did, but i have carried one for quite a while and COMPRESSED AIR AND BRAKE CLEANER ARE YOUR FRIENDS unless something breaks

Well, If I can manage a rebuild of a e/h piston pump or a dis&re of a control valve from an excavator I think a bolt shouldn't be that big of a problem.
Seems like they have to come apart to properly check headspace, don't they?
