So yeah when i was in moose hunting back in September with my uncle. We saw a few moose down in a marsh and went down to see if we could find them.My uncle went around the marsh one way and i went through the middle were i had the rifle incase (he had the ammo so we were being safe the gun was not loaded) i saw one from the to the north were he went south. So on my way crossing i was have a bit of a hard time crossing boots getting stuck the normal stuff. When i was half way there i went to my chest in water . Lucky for me i was carrying my m14 in my hands and not on my back.

Got the gun side ways so i would not go down any more. I was in shock because the water and realy damn cold and a fright from going to me chest in boggy marsh water. So was able to stop myself from sinking more with my gun and push myself up with it.Was damn happy i was the one with the gun if not i would of more then likely been dead. And we did not even end up seeing the moose.

Well, that's it. You have convinced me to buy one (just in case). ;) Glad to hear a happy ending to that story. Some pretty hair raising stuff there.

Hey Saders, some of those m14's can be heavy, lucky it didn't take you to the bottom, good thing you got it sideways....LOL...

......glad it all worked out for you;)

Next time call'em in and you guys stay on high ground

Saders, I am glad that you are OK. I am embarrassed to read the less than kind remarks in this thread.

Ahh yes, hunting in Newfoundland, one wrong step and your nuts are down in the bog. Good times:D

Is your M14 a Norc/Polytech or a Springfield? I'm sure if it were a Springfield you would have been saved that much better, if fact you might not even have gotten wet. And if it is a Norc, I assume you must have had the gas system unitized, replaced the flash hider with something cooler looking and installed a USGI op-rod and spring... otherwise you would have surely perished.:D

In all seriousness, glad you are safe. I punched through floating bog one time while out duck hunting and it is not a happy feeling.

If I was telling this story, it would have some kind of monster in it and the M14 would be used to fill it with holes.

It would also involve time travel and a nuclear explosion going off on the moon.

And also a clown getting punched in the face, somewhere in the middle of the story.

Just saying...

its a norinco and was nothing done with it at the time. Now i have a archangel stock on it,a pro mag see thru sight and a Springfield muzzle break. And sorry for the bad the grammar and what not my brains has trouble with sentence structor.
