M14 shorty sights

I'm looking for a front night sight for my M14. Can anyone give me any suggestions or advice. I was also wondering with the differences in barrel length be a factor on choosing the correct sight.
 
Can't help with the night site, but it seems to me the easy thing to do is shoot your gun with your favorite loads and see how the existing front sight works for you..... measure it and go from there.

I went with the SAI Scout version. Arrived here within a week direct from SAI. If you go that route be sure to order the sight screw as well. DOH.

FYI, the height of the SAI Scout one I received is 0.688 inch from base to sight top. Not as tall as the goofy Norc shorty height (mine measures 0.78 inch) but taller than USGI sights. I still have to replace my rear sights as mine are god-awful.

I had a hard time getting proper shorty sight specs as well. Let us know if the nights sights work out as I may end up going in that direction....

Is the Dlask adjustable gas lock still the only option for Norc threads?? Is there supposed to be two height options for it? On the DA Socom is the base, or sight taller than standard??
