M14 sighting in Iraq

Dude, its because of his comms.

Moose

It is his comm set that is causing his helmet to ride high like that.

I'm not disagreeing with you guys...

I'm merely saying that if the pads are interferring or helmet doesn't fit over comms, he should get different helmet and (probably thicker) pads to accomodate for more room.

Besides the obvious of providing less frag protection, wearing a helmet that high all day would just be tiring and annoying....like duct-taping a melon to the top of your head :p

Too bad all that footage is from a flat out illegal and immoral war. Bush needs to be held for trial in the Hague. Guns are best used for protection not agression. I have no problem with a just war, but that isn't one of them.

P.S. The music in the vid was pathetic. What was supposed to sound tough and energetic sounded more like a retarded 14 year old temper tantrum.

Nonsense, but I agree about the music.

The thread started out optimistically with a discussion of a sniper using an M-14 in Iraq. The M-14 made only an initial, quick cameo appearance, however, leaving the stage wide open for other topics to step in.

The discussion of a high helmet, frankly, took everyone completely off guard and once that topic arose, a number of bit-players took it as an invitation to roll out all forms of foolishness, such as whether the Iraq invasion was illegal and who might make a better president, Obama or Hillary.

Most of the audience seemed slightly annoyed at these observations, opinions being like a**holes etc., and being that they had bought tickets for an M-14 thread which crashed and burned immediately after takeoff.

I went into this thread with an open mind and hoping for the best, but left bewildered and sorely disappointed.

I give this thread 1 star out of 10. NOT reccommended.

Not sure if the pad set in the helmet will accomodate those comms. It may be a Dillen Aero set and they normally ride high on the mellon without comms.

This is possibly among the best posts I've ever seen on CGN. I give it 7 out of 10. :D

I disagree. It's lacking in many elements that make for a classic CGN post. There has been no mention of anybody's #### falling off, and no discussion of the relative merits of Norcs vs. M1As. Nobody has brought up the general boringness of .30-06 yet. We have yet to see a single comment about Wendy Cukier, David Miller, Dalton McGuinty, the Toronto Star's editorial board or Ron Charach's appearance, intelligence, weight, honesty, morals, taste for colonoscopy poetry, degree of sanity, hairstyle or ###ual preferences. Not one person has questioned Stephane Dion's leadership ability, command of the English language, or possible lab rat ancestry.

The omission of humourous macros is puzzling. There have been no demands for pictures of the OP's new firearm. I cannot yet fathom why nobody has brought up the fact that bullpups are supposed to be illegal. Amazingly, nobody has asked whether an M-14 is suitable for bear defence yet. So far as I can tell, there hasn't been a banning or infraction notice so far, and the thread has yet to be locked. And we haven't had anybody question why Dlask Backpackers aren't prohibited.

Nobody has bemoaned the fact that most Canadians and all non-CGNer Torontonians are gelded sheeple yet. No calls for burning Toronto to the ground and kicking Ontario and Quebec out of Confederation have been issued. There have been no appeals for donations to the CPC, CSSA, or Bruce Montague yet, nor for that matter, has the wisdom of Bruce's court challenge or whether his counsel wears Adolf Hitler Underoos come up. There's been a dearth of ghastly puns, and not even a whiff of Mall Ninjitude.

In short, we all have been slacking off. This isn't the betterhomesandgardens.com lawn care forum, people. Get cracking!

:).
