Last week I tried to remove the stipper clip guide on my M14 shorty. It took 3 little hits from a small hammer, but I removed it just for fun. Then I tried to remove it from my 2009 M14 to put a scope mount. It was stuck, really stuck. I searched the internet for a way to remove it. I tried bigger hammers, to soak it in oil, a voodoo spell... It was not moving. Then hop to the gunsmith. He tried 20 minutes with all king of tools with no result. Finally he had to cut the guide in 2 to remove it.

Am I the first with that problem?

(No, I did not forget to remove the pin...)

Mine was a real bugger to get off too
Took penetrating oil, torch, hammer and a lot of swearing to get it

Turns out it was jammed full of Chinese dirt :D

Chinese have good dirt, they include free. You need to get some Ying and Yang, they include for extra price. Repeat after me, HUMMMM! Keep repeating. You find the problem?:slap:

Blackmore, how do you like the Millet mount?

Like it so far.
Easy to put in (once that bastard clip came off) and seems pretty solid. Half dozen shots and I had it down to a nice group the other day.

This is my first M305, love this gun
fun to tinker with and upgrade, just put in a new op rod guide from CanAmmo

want to haul it down to that clinic at M14 Doctors this summer
and get it fixed right up
