M14 tanker?

Anyone ever shorten the barrel of their m305 and leave the wood on it?
(like the garand tanker)

I have only ever seen socoms here, still sweet but I like the look of the tanker a lot.

It is done regularly. It has even been done in Iqaluit. There is a front sight that is a direct replacement for the gas cylinder lock. Marstar, among others sells these.
The bore is chromed, so recrowning must be done properly, and the muzzle will need to be threaded for whatever hider or brake is desired.
