O.k call me a loser.

I thought getting the bolt apart and back together was supposed to be tricky.
It wasn't too bad.

But, How the hell do you get the trigger group back together???
How do you push the spring back?...line up the all the holes....and put the pin back in...with only two hands???

I've been at it for an hour!! I can barely get the spring pushed in with my hands, let alone line up the trigger...............:jerkit:

What's the trick...

any pics on here??

Most of us just leave it intact and blast it clean with brake cleaner. Sorry Charlie.

Scott Duff's Complete M-14 Assembly Guide has detailed instructions :)

I just boiled mine in water for about 20-30 minutes, then let it soak in varsol for another 15 minutes then attacked it with a tooth brush in the varsol pot

What Jake2 said . It is exactly the same as a Garand trigger group going back together.
The hammer must be uncocked .
Install the trigger gaurd, then the safety spring ,then the safety, then the hammer uncocked ,then the hammer pin which when lined up goes in the trigger guard, housing and hammer.

Next goes the hammer spring housing ,spring and plunger as a assembly .
Now line up the trigger in the hammer spring housing and use pressure (I use my left hand because I am right handed) from your weak hand and squeeze the trigger and spring housing assembly to compress the hammer spring until you get enough clearance to install the trigger pin with you "Good" hand . You may need to Whack the trigger pin with a hammer/mallet or punch to get it in .
I have found Chinese trigger groups to be far more difficult than USGI M14 or Garand . It will go ,it may take you a time or 2 .
When you get it down practice it a few times .
It will be like tying your shoe ,you will never forget it !
Hope this helps !
Mike

I forgot to mention, if you can get ahold of a M1 Garand trigger pin ,it makes the process a whole lot easier. The Chinese trigger pins that I have encountered were not tapered on the end like USGI ,they were blunt .

Let us know how it turns out ?
Remember to always dissassemble with the hammer uncocked . They are very difficult to get back together if you remove the pind with the hammer cocked !

Got it together.... Phew...!!

O.K. In the tutorial that was posted. There is a clip ejector shown. Kinda like a hairpin looking thing. On my trigger group it's only an inch long and just sits there....doing nothing. kinda shakes around....

..is this right?

Okay The "Clip" ejector is very similar to the "Safety spring" ,actually you can take a M1 Clip ejector and trim it down and make a M14 safety spring .
It should not be shaking around ,it goes underneath the safety and the round part should fit perfectly on the little stud down on the bottm left .

O.k :0 thanks for the heads up. It is on the stud...but there is no tension on the saftey...I must have missed something....
I never had a chance to fire my new rifle. :(
I have Hungry's Clinic this weekend. I'll get it fixed up good then...LOL
