Hello I was wondering if someone could please comment on this for me. i believe i have really ...... up my rifle tonight. Was proceeding to install an ARMS 18 scope mount. removed the trigger assembly. Then started to drive the roll pin (from the top / exterior) into the receive and realized I didn't close the bolt. The roll pin i believe is driven roughly 60-70% of the way. The bolt will now not close. Does anyone know how difficult of a fix this might be?

Thank you for any feed back and I already know how stupid this is please refrain from throwing jabs

The roll pin is fairly brittle.

You may be able to snap it off if hit on the side....

If the bolt will move, but not fully close.....
Drop a 30-06 case in the chamber, this will allow some access from the side but not require you to hold the Action open half way. Use a reasonablely sized flat head screwdriver and a hammer to snap off the protruding pin (side to side).

If the roll pin is jammed hard into the front of the bolt..... there is only one way I can think of to tap the pin back in enough to allow the bolt to move...... tap the bottom of the bolt up with small light taps with a hammer. It will remove finish, and likely look ugly, but as long as you're not whacking it real hard with a 16oz+ ball peen hammer you shouldn't permanatly damage the receiver or the bolt.....

Good luck!
John
